Chasing Your Dreams

in our last class we watched a documeteray on a print making artist known as Amos Kennedy. he had peculiar behaivor, but at times when he needed to be, he showed that he was truly a genius which is something i particullary got a kick out of. When the question was raised "what do you like about the film?". I wanted too give my thoughts, but i was afraid to really speak my mind to be perfectly honest. Now however, i wish to share what i liked about the film, which i found truly inspiring. Amos at first worked in the buisness world. he was very well-off even had kids. however he was never truly happy until he discovered print making. When he did he finnally discovered what his true calling was, and knew he was destined too be a print maker. he gave up the buisness industry, and did what he loved , by becoming an artist. That for me was so! inspiring. I like to look at myself as an artist, however time and time again, im told what i do is not REAL art. To want too be a manga illustrator in alot of peoples eyes is frowned upon. ECSPECIALLY with most art teachers. They say it looks too cartooney, and shows no real value. For some that is the case, however for those who really work at it. studying and understanding many diffrent forms of art, and its principles are the only way we can create the artwork that we do. For some teachers to say my work isn't art is just completly ridiculous. they see it as simple. However they have no idea of the time it took too get an eye drawn completly perfect. or get the shading tones or color tones just right. They just instantly see CARTOON. so they put down, and discourage something that's my passion, and i think that's utter garbage. Art is not defined by another artist previous work, but how YOU express yourself through some sort of medium,  or talent, well that's what i believe. If i didn't wanna go futher with my artwork i don't know what i would do. Illustration is everything too me and i wish too pursue it no matter who, or what puts me down. it is my passion, and i will do what God put me on this planet to do. It makes me truly happy too create something purely from my imagination, and try too bring it too life. I love it, and to whoever is reading this, i suggest you do whatever makes you happy. No matter what it is, if your called to do it, then do it. Chase your dreams, and make them reality
