Title:Naruto
Artist: Mamashi Kishimoto
Medium: Copic Markers, ink, pencil, water-color
Of course if i'm doing an art collection mostly centered around manga, and anime then my collection would not be complete without a piece from Mamashi Kishimoto. The piece that i have included, is voulume cover art for the 7th installment of the manga series Naruto. Naruto is the most poupular manga series out today, and arguebly the greatest manga of all time. Mamashi Kishimoto is the genuis behind Naruto. Masashi Kashimoto was born on November 8, 1974 as the older identical twin of Seishi Kishimoto in the Okayama Prefecture, Japan. He grew up watching and drawing characters from many manga and anime such as Dr. Slump, and kinnikuman. His major inspiration however was the work of Akira Toriyama. Akira is the creator of Dragon ball, which in my opinion and surely Mamashi's is the greatest manga of all time. Mamashi Kishimoto would later by 1997 release a one shot manga called Naruto which would be published in Akamaru Jump Summer. and now it is a HUGE success, not only attracting many fans in Japan, but the U.S as well. Mamashi will forever be immortalized as one of the greatest mangaka whoever lived, alongide his idol Akira Toriyama. What i like about this most is the actual poses of the characters themselves. I am an artist who LOVES too see cool, gestural movement, or dynamic poses. In this pic i love how Naruto appears too be hunched over, and have a fearsome look on his face. While his friend Sasuke sits behind him, in a pose that shows "hey if you get past him you have to deal with me" or that kind of look. it shows that the two are together against whatever force threatens them, and with one of the antagonist Orachimaru faded by water color, as an after thought in the back. it shows the force that opposes them. Also it is a good fill for the negative space. Although it's one of Mamashi's earlier works, it's awesome, he did a great job with the colors, characters everything! It's great!!
