Title:Nausicaa
Author: Studio Ghibli illustrator
medium: ink, pencil watercolor

My favoite movie pertaining to anime so far, currently, is Nausicaa of the valley of the wind. The movie is a Studio Ghibli production, directed by one of the greatest anime film producers of all time Hayao Miyazaki. Hayao Miyazaki is the genuis not only behind this film, but also other famous anime films such as Spirited away, and Princess mononoke. the storys he creates have ALWAYS fasinated me. Even as a child, I loved princess Mononoke. When i got older, i decided to look up his other films. That's when i discovered Nausicaa of the valley of th wind, and i was completly taken with it. It was amazing in my eyes, i loved the characters, the world, and the story being told. I'm not exactly sure who the author of this painting that i posted is, and whether or not it's a watercolor painting is realy just a guess. looking at how washed out the colors look though. I think watercolor is a pretty accurate guess. I love the look of this...the color definitly gives it that old world feel..the darks, and lights of the colors really draw me in as well. i love how her pants were shaded. and how the hair looks so vibrant. I do wish the illustrator gave her face my tone, such as he did with her neck and arms, of some sort. However! that doesn't make it a bad picture at all. I love it nonetheless for what the illustrator DID do. It's just as an artist, I always try too look for what can make something i like even better. Nausicaa is beutiful, and how the illustrator handeled this greatly depicted this. Really love this pic! i hope to do something simular one day.
