Artwork collection post: 1

Title: Black Rock Shooter
Artist: Huke
Not much is known about the artist Huke, except that he went too an Animation college. and then took up Illustration as a career for character design for a gaming company. He eventually would resign and become a freelance artist, creating original characters from his experience being a professional. One of those characters  happened too be an illustration of a character he named Black Rock Shooter. This would inspire a man named Ryo a band leader of a group called Supercell too create a song dedicated too the character, and amazingly, not long after the Character illustration, and the song inspired an anime which was first created as a movie, and is now an ongoing anime on this very day. the thing i like most about this is the high attention too detail in this pic. Huke is an amazing artist not only does the character Black Rock Shooter, have great detail, but great body composition as well.. The shading used too help her body appear too pop is very accurate in my opinion. there's not too much so that we can tell her skin is very pale, but there is just enough too bring her out so she is not flat. If the beauty of the character wasn't enough the background is great as well. The detail in the ruin and the chain's are awesome. It's portrayed in a realistic manner, but also it feels fantasy like too give it, it's own unique feeling..instead of just being boring ruin. If you look closely you can notice the star in the corner, which is basically the symbol for Black Rock shooter, and you can also see the checkerboard design which gives the boring ruin a bit more flavor in my opinion. This has too be one of my favorite pieces of art, and Huke is definitely one of the many inspirations for me. He continue's too work on many original concepts and designs for other anime, Like Stein's gate.

Favorite work so far of the Excursions

So far we have took two excursions, to two different art galleries. The galleries, portrayed many different forms of art. The art ranged from art about weather patterns, too life as an insect and the evolution they go through along with their family trees. You can see the hard work and dedication that the artist portrayed in their subject matter. Although some may view some of there work as just purely sexual, others can truly look at the art and see a deeper meaning, that others can't interpret. One artist that i feel may give that feeling is, Jakie Felix, Jakie's art was powerful in that it normally showed a sexual image, but it was meant too really give you a view on how men treat woman in today's world. Her Blue Mary series, in my opinion clearly depicts this.
This image in my opinion shows Mary probably declining an offer at the last second too be photographed and exploited. Mary was never really portrayed as a sexual figure because of her reputation as pure, and a virgin. However Jackie Felix took the world's most pure girl, and showed her in a modern setting being made into a sexual figure. I believe Jackie nailed this message if this was the true intent of her work, and their are also many other works in the Blue Mary series that basically give off the same message perfectly. there were many other artist viewed in our excursions, but so far Jackie Felix really caught my attention. i look forward too the next excursions too discover more powerful artwork like hers.
